Meltdown!

I was just forwarded a link to an interesting newspaper article and thought I'd share the photos. Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo carved a thousand miniature people out of ice and placed them on the steps of Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt in the heat of the day. The installation was organized to spotlight the World Wildlife Fund's warning about melting ice caps in Greenland and Antarctica, and with temperatures running around 23 deg C., it didn't take long for the effects to begin. The installation lasts as long as the ice does, with all that's left being the observer's photographs and memories.
Interestingly, Azevedo does not really consider herself a climate activist. Her original intent was based on a critical view of official historical monuments such that the memory is not reserved to great heroes or great monuments but is inscribed in the photographic image of the melting piece and shared by everyone. Despite that fact, she believes art is open to reading and interpretation and  is pleased that her "Melting Men" installation can speak of urgent matters that threaten the existence of our planet.

Camo-Toe

I popped into After Dark Custom Motorcycles while on a recent road trip to Edmonton. I always like visiting the shop and chatting to Andrew and the crew about their bikes and recent projects. This trip I was interested in getting some information about a special custom that After Dark did for Blue Circle client Jason. Though I got the some specificdetails, I wasn't able to get the photos I wanted but in the meantime did see the bike that was the impetus for Jason to get his own custom ride.
The "Camo-Toe" is another military inspired bike that belongs to one of Jason's military buddies. After seeing it, Jason decided to get his own bike, one that personifies his perspective on his military experiences.Though I don't know the exact details of the 'Camo-Toe', I believe it's owner did a few tours in Afghanistan and his bike seems to reflect some of his experiences there.

Erin's Birthday

Blue Circle's very own Erin, has a bit of a crush on Global News weatherman, Paul Dunphy, ever since seeing him at the Stampede. Some of the crew tried to arrange to get a signed photo of Paul for Erin's birthday today and instead, Paul actually took the time to stop by the office and wish her a happy birthday in person. How great was that of him to take time out of his day?! And, of course, Erin was so surprised she could hardly talk!! haha! It was great and Erin is still gushing over it still!!

Return Of The Road Glide

Harley Davidson has just unveiled the new Road Glide Special, a touring model for 2015.
It marks the return of the 'Road Glide' brand to the Harley range, after being discontinued in 2013 for reasons I don't know. Now, it's back and it's been given a narrower fairing, brighter headlights, new controls and an upgraded 'infotainment system'.
It's has the new High Output Twin Cam 103 engine and a six-Speed Cruise Drive transmission, much the same as the all the bikes in the 2014 line-up .
The new Road Glide is making its debut at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, happening right now!
