Glen and I strapped on the snowshoes and spent the morning up in Kananaskis, exploring the back country. Lots of snow back there, and snow falling for the better part of our trek, so it was definitely a winter wonderland. How great is it to live in Alberta and have this beautiful big back yard!

The Dakar

The Dakar Rally (typically just called The Dakar) is an annual off-road race that used to run from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal but only up until 2008. Due to political unrest and security issues, the race was cancelled in that year and the following year was moved to run through Argentina and Chile. Since then it has been held in South America as a true "rally raid", meaning strictly off road bikes in extremely tough terrain, sometimes covering as much as 800 km in a stage. Interestingly, about 80% of the participants are classified as amateurs, making it quite a special open participation event. Check out some of the amazing photos below for an idea of just what a rider will face in this gruelling event.

2014 Dakar Route

It was great to see Troy and Ange from Ride Stop N Go and share with them their own personalized 'Blue' chef's apron. They ride together, and now they can cook together in style!

Pajama Day Turns Into Pajama Dinner

After starting off the day with a fabulous, bacon infused breakfast, the Blue crew stayed in their p.j.'s all day and into the night. With another huge spread of great food and some tasty libations, we ended the day with a bang...and a visit from Santa too!!!

Pajama Day And Office Breakfast

Blue Circle hosted our annual Pajama Day and breakfast today, with everyone getting into the spirit of things by showing up in their finest sleepwear. Gerry and Kelly cooked up a mere 20 lbs of bacon, and K2 and Gerry were whipping up treats to feed the hungry horde, who enjoyed a mimosa and/or special coffee while waiting for fresh made waffles. We invited the rest of the office building to join us and we were pleased to host the fine folks from Clear Motive and Permit Masters, who also dressed to impress. What a great way to start a day and get into the holiday spirit.
