What a great day we had with the crew from CJAY92 at their motorcycle rally to raise funds for The Kid's Foundation. This event had been an annual one for many years but was shelved back in 2007. CJAY's Graeme Reaper was inspired to revive the run and got a bunch of people on board to help make it happen, including my employers, Blue Circle.
The rally riders assembled at Trail Appliances and had coffee and scones, then hit the highway in small groups, rolling down to Vulcan to the first check point, manned by CJAY Rock Girl, Mercedes, and myself. Then they headed west to Nanton, Longview and Bragg Creek, before making the swing back around to Trail for the wrap up. Each check point was a chance to enter a ballot for the draw that each sponsor manning the booth was offering up as a prize, in our case, a cool, custom wrapped mini beer fridge. The grand prize was $1000.00 and some other lucky winner got an equally great prize of almost that same amount in the 50/50 draw.
The weather was fantastic and so were all the people involved in putting it together, as were the riders. Lots of fun and a total of $6416.00 raised for The Kid's Foundation, so way to go CJAY!
Great sunrise, which eased the pain of a 5:00 get up!

George won the Blue Circle beer fridge, not bad for a guy whose son talked him into coming just 15 minutes before the start. |
