Wow! What an event! '
Two Wheel Sunday' tore it up with their inaugural 'all clubs' meet. This was a get together for anyone who loves the two wheeled lifestyle and wanted to hang out with like minded souls and it's pretty obvious that there's plenty of them around here!
Blue Circle was there of course, and we had '
Women In The Wind' on our left , '
The Victory Riders ' on our right, and shared the tailgate of our truck with Patti Derbyshire of '
Torch Motorcycles', who also happens to be quite the m.c. and well connected in the media world! '
Torch' had their own display set up, dong 3D imaging of volunteer female riders, as they are using the data to help design a motorcycle specifically for women (more on that in a future blog). Patti spent a good part of her day on the mic, letting the crowds know about all the groups who were there and what was going on in the various venues, with
Lucid Kustoms,
Universal Cycle and
OMG MotorcycleTraining School generously opening their doors to help host the 3000 guests who had pretty much taken over the entire street!
James and Ron from the 'Victory Riders' also organized a Motorcycle Show and Shine, with some cool prizes for best Vintage, Custom, Cruiser and Sport bike provided by '
Cycleworks Calgary' .
Cycleworks were one of the groups instrumental in helping get this event started, providing some 'seed' money and donating 500 litres of gas for prizes. '
Blue Circle' was also there from the beginning and helped with some cash for the essentials of hosting this type of event, like providing porta-potties for the throngs that showed up! '
Blue Circle' also stepped up and gave $25.00 gas card prizes to 3 lucky voters who took the time to cast a vote for the best bikes in the show, this being strictly a People's Choice Award. And people did vote, which was why the bike owners put their rides on display!!
Lucid Kustoms not only had several of their very cool custom bikes out for display but opened up their shop and showed the movie 'Why We Ride' and '6 Over' during the day. A great way to get out of the hot sun for a spell and check out this great documentary that helps explain why Two Wheel Sunday turned out so well.
There were lots of other bike enthusiasts there, including our good friends Troy and Ang from '
Ride Stop n Go', who had their cameras rolling and talked to lots and lots of people. Be sure to check out their show on Shaw T.V. when the new episodes come out in the Fall. Troy and Ang know how to ride and know lots of riders, so you'll see lots of bikes, lots of routes, some amazing scenery and lots of fun.
Really, '
Two Wheel Sunday' was a hit and everyone is already talking about next year, so if you're interested in setting something up, or interested in coming by to check it all out, keep an eye on the Facebook page for the news!
