The Dakar: Stage 9

Nothing much has changed in the bike category after 9 stages in The Dakar. The top three are still the same, with about the same time differences. The only change of interest is that Cyril Despres has clawed his way up another position, after winning stage 8 and now sits in 9th spot. The 4 time winner of The Dakar had quite the disaster earlier on in the race, with mechanical failure, and suffered a 1 hour penalty but despite the failings of his bike has managed to prove his skills and show why he has won this race so many times. Otherwise, the sad news of another death in the rally this year. Cause is undetermined but proof is that this is one tough race and has many perils along the route.
