I don't just love two wheels with a motor! I also love to get out on my mountain bike and enjoy some epic scenery in our big back yard called the Rockies, usually with my buddy Doug. Or get out the road bike and go pedal the "Road To Nepal", over by Spruce Meadows, usually with my son Devin. Pedal power is a great way to stay in shape and slow down the pace a bit, while still feeling the wind in your face and being connected to the outdoors.
Here's some photos of some interesting bikes, with a bit of a twist on the fabrication. Some of them are truly artistic and have such exquisite form. Others keep it straight up simple and go after the function. In most cases they're all wood frames, but some have wooden rims and other components. My favourite is the one made entirely of wood, using a push rod system instead of a chain. Maybe the best part about that one is that it's a true home-built, and looks like it's coming from a very humble background. Proof that you don't necessarily need a formal education to be pretty damn smart and pull off a brilliant piece of work like that gentleman produced.
