New Year's Campout

We decided to head up to the camp for New year's Eve and welcome 2016, along with Mother Nature and some peace and quiet. We saw the Aurora Borealis just after it got dark, and before the moon came up, which we thought was a good omen of the year to come!
The temperature went down to a chilly -15°C but the fire kept us warm and we had the heaters going in the old Airstream, so it was pretty toasty all around. It's amazing how well you sleep when you are outside in the cold air all day and half the night, then curl up under a couple of big down filled duvets at bedtime. Of course, I had to sleep with my toque on but that's quite okay!! haha!
Happy New Year!!!

Champagne is chillin'

We're getting the fire built up, but Rex still needed to get in his chair and cover up! haha

There was a bit of snow but not too much considering it's January
We got heated up nicely with this blaze
You can't tell in the dark but our tree is 50' high
